din garderob, plaggen som just

A while ago I figured out the answer to the "I have nothing to wear"-enigma,
and it involves a pair of patterned pants with a high slit.
We've all been there, right? A closet full of clothes but nothing to wear. For a long time I thought that the answer was investing in classic pieces; simple yet stylish. The pieces that matches with anything and everything. I've stacked my drawers with cable knit sweaters, pants and t-shirts in the neutral colours. Pieces in one colour. White, black, grey and marine blue.
Despite my great effort to create a wardrobe full of opportunities I stand there with that annoying feeling - I have nothing to wear. On top of all, I feel so uninspired! I mean; jeans and a grey sweater, jeans and a black sweater, jeans and a white sweater... How fun is it really? Then it occurred to me: could it be that this is linked to one another? A closet full of staple pieces and an annoying feeling of having nothing to wear?
Sure, the 25 essential pieces that work in all closets are faboulous investments lasting a whole lifetime, but to find those classic pieces specially handpicked by you (for you), the pieces that you love, that is for me the secret and solution to that eternal problem of having a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. Basics in all their glory but it takes a few quirky garments to keep the inspiration and the curiosity to find new exciting combinations.
What's in your closet? Basics or quirky pieces?
